More Seabase Info
At the meeting on Monday we routed an interest signup sheet for a couple of potential Seabase trips in the summer of 2011. One of those trips is a 9 day Scuba trip that requires the attendees to be Scuba certified prior to the trip. That entails some class work, some checkout dives, and a fair bit of money.

As this is a popular excursion, we have to commit to the trip in the next month or so, but we know that some Scouts that expressed interest may have very little exposure to Scuba diving. The expected cost could be $2500 or more for the entire package including the certification. As a result, we'd need to make sure that any Scout that is interested gets a flavor for Scuba diving before they make a decision to go.

There is an intro to Scuba class Sunday February 14th in St. Paul from 5:00 - 8:00. It is put on by a Boy Scout Venture crew. The purpose is to let Scouts get a feel for what it is like to breathe underwater, etc. The cost is $20. We need to turn in a roster for those boys that would like to try it out, so we'll have a signup form on Monday. You can use camp credits, equipment credits or cash to pay for the class. If you would like more information, you can check out this link:

http://www.northernstarbsa.org/News.aspx?articleID=503

So if you are interested, please be ready to signup on Monday, or send an email to Perry McGahan, Jon Millerhagen, or Randal Zoeller prior to Monday.

Note, the minimum age for this trip is 14 at the time of trip, so we'd like to limit this experience to only those boys that are 13 or older now.
